How do I clean my convertible top?
A: Convertible tops are subjected to the same environmental conditions that nature and man places on your car's finish. The number one factor in deteriorating convertible tops is acid rain, U.V. rays, smog, gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, tree sap, bird droppings, salt, tar, dirt and grit.

1. You should wash your convertible top each time you wash your car with RAGGTOPP Cleaner. The high foaming low PH action will lift the grit and grime from the convertible top.
  • Spray on and allow to remain for 5 to 15 seconds. Gently brush with a stiff, natural brush or soft nylon brush to remove grease, stains, soil marks and bird dropping.
  • Rinse thoroughly with plenty of cool water.
2. If your convertible top has been regularly cleaned, alternate using a Tacky Vac adhesive cleaning roller between washes.
Q: How do I Protect my convertible top?
A: RAGGTOPP Protectant is the future of convertible top protection. Over three years of product testing has produced a polymer formula that creates a superior protective barrier that micro-bonds to the convertible top.

After 8-12 months, fabric convertible tops start to lose its soil and stain resistance. When it rains, the fabric convertible top absorbs water making it difficult to dry out. Unlike the vinyl convertible tops, fabric tops are not waterproof, only water resistant.

Without protection, your convertible top will prematurely age, start to leak and show stains.
RAGGTOPP Protectant is the only protectant specifically designed for convertible tops. It easily outperforms consumer and industrial grade fabric protectors. Will not wash off.

RAGGTOPP Protectant is designed for the auto-care professional and ragtop enthusiast that demand a protectant that is easy to use and can be applied in direct sunlight. It will not harm the paint, chrome, glass or vinyl window. Simply wipe off over-spray with a clean dry cotton towel or rag. U.V. stabilizer make it sun friendly, non-sticky and quick drying.

Easy To Use:

  • Convertible top must be clean and completely dry.
  • For professional results, shake well to keep product mixed.
  • Spray twelve inches from the convertible top using gentle overlaying sweeping motions.
  • Spray extra on seams.
  • Allow convertible top to dry 10-15 minutes or until dry to the touch.
  • Due to the micro-bonding process, two or three light coats should be applied for maximum effectiveness.
  • Just add the heat of the sun or other artificial heat source to speed up drying time between applications.

RAGGTOPP's micro-bonding process takes approximately 24 hours to complete. Water repellency will renew after each washing once the top has completely dried. It Will Not Wash Off.

Q: What is the correct way to maintain the plastic window on a convertible soft-top?
A: The rear plastic window on your convertible top is a specialized type of clear vinyl called "pressed poly."
It contains two layers of non-colored vinyl laminated together under intense pressure and heat.

This material is soft and easily scratches, absorbs a wide range of gasses, U.V. rays, liquids, acids and other environmental elements. It will yellow and become brittle in time if you do not maintain it properly. UV protection added in the manufacturing process become less effective each day.

Harmful Chemicals You Should Not Use:

  • Ammonia
  • Bleach
  • Detergent
  • Alcohol
  • Vinegar

Proper Care:

Cleaning: All manufacturers recommend first rinsing off the vinyl to remove the elements of nature and man.

Be careful not to touch the vinyl plastic window when grit appears. Use a very mild natural soap in bucket of cool water. With a soft clean cotton cloth, wash the vinyl window and immediately rinse with cool water. Repeat for the inside vinyl window.

Dry your vinyl window with a clean, dry, cotton soft cloth or synthetic chamois. DO NOT USE A PAPER TOWEL.

Protection: Make sure all dust and grit is rinsed away. Spray on RAGGTOPP Protectant until the vinyl window is completely wet. Then with a clean, soft cotton towel, immediately wipe the surface dry. Reapply every 30- 60 days. (harsh environment requires additional protection) Repeat for inside vinyl window.

RAGGTOPP Protectant contains U.V. screening agents for maximum U.V. protection. Regular applications of RAGGTOPP Protectant will keep vinyl windows clear and extend the life of your convertible top.
